BROCKTON —
Tied at 72-all with 2:10 left, the Whitman-Hanson boys basketball team went on a 5-0 run to take a key 77-72 Patriot League win over Duxbury at home on Wednesday.
T.J. Champignie led the Panthers (2-1) with 24 points. Teammates Tim Farrell netted 20 points and Eric Johnson poured in 13 points with Farrell scoring five of the game’s final nine points.
The Panthers’ John Hardiman scored 10 points and played well defensively in the post despite being outsized while Josh Burnett and Josh Hansen combined to frustrate Green Dragons’ star Brian Grossman.
