Panthers Boys Basketball
Whitman- Are you ready for some basketball? The Whitman-Hanson Boys basketball program will once again be holding their Future Stars Pre-Season Basketball clinics at the high school. Head Coach Bob Rodgers, his staff and many of his players will teach the fundamentals in order to get youngsters ready for the upcoming season.
Boys in grades 1 through 3 will play on hoops which are lowered to a size appropriate for their beginning stage of basketball unless the player opts to play up. Boys in grades 4 through 8 will use the regulation hoops and will utilize the shootaway machine. “We are always excited to work with the young players in our community. We have been doing this so long now, that most of our current players went through these very programs,” Rodgers said. “We feel like we are able to stress and teach fundamentals to players of all ability levels. Whether these kids end up playing basketball in high school or not really doesn’t matter that much, but what we truly want to see happen is give each boy enough confidence to enjoy playing at the youth level so they want to keep playing this great game.”
The program starts on October 3rd and runs every Monday through November 14th (no clinic on 10/10) from 6-7:30pm. The cost of the program is only $100 if registered before September 23rd and $125 after that date. All proceeds will benefit the high school basketball program. To register, go to
